What All-On-Four Is and Who It Is For
All-On-Four places four titanium implants per arch at specific angles in your jawbone and anchors a fixed prosthesis to those four implants. The prosthesis stays in your mouth all the time. You brush it like teeth. You eat what you want. You do not take it out at night.
It is the right procedure if you have lost most or all of the teeth in an arch, if you are wearing a denture you do not like, if you are facing full-mouth extractions and considering what comes next, or if you have been told elsewhere that you do not have enough bone for traditional implants. All-On-Four often works in cases where standard implants do not, because the angled placement uses denser bone in the front of the jaw.
Working Around an Active-Duty Schedule
A few realities of doing All-On-Four while you are on active duty or in a flight-line role:
The treatment window is four to six months
Most of it is healing time, not chair time. Once you are past surgery and into the integration phase, you are mostly going about your normal routine with a temporary prosthesis. The brief check-in visits during that window are 15 to 30 minutes each.
Surgery day requires a full day off
IV sedation puts you under for three to four hours per arch, and you should not return to flight-related duties or operate heavy equipment for at least 24 hours afterward. Most patients take 2 to 4 days of post-surgery downtime before resuming a normal schedule.
PCS and deployment timing matters
If you have a four-to-six-month window at Pope Field, we can complete the entire treatment locally. If you have less time, we can stage the work: surgery and temporary prosthesis here, with the final prosthesis fitted at your new location through a documented hand-off. IV sedation, oral sedation, or local-only. Oral sedation is a lighter option. Local anesthesia is administered in every case regardless. IV sedation requires you to have a driver.

Q: What if I have a deployment scheduled mid-timeline?
Two options. First, if your deployment falls during the healing window after the implants are placed, the temporary prosthesis is stable enough to deploy with as long as you have a dental support resource at your forward location for any check-ups. Q: Are appointments available outside standard work hours?
