Implant-supported overdentures fix the daily problems that conventional dentures create: slipping when you eat, clicking when you talk, soreness from rubbing, and the gradual face changes that come from long-term denture wear. Instead of resting on your gums, the denture clips onto two or more small implants placed in your jawbone. It stays put. The implants preserve your bone. The Teeth Doctors is at 6402 Yadkin Road in west Fayetteville, a 30-minute drive south of Spout Springs via US-401. Dr. Jeremiah Davis holds advanced implant credentials including Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, held by only eight dentists in the entire state of North Carolina.
Implant-Supported Overdentures, 30 Minutes Down US-401
Spout Springs is roughly 20 miles north of our office, an easy 30-minute drive on US-401 South. The route runs from the Buies Creek and Bunnlevel area down through Spring Lake and into the western edge of Fayetteville. For Spout Springs and northern Harnett County residents, this is essentially the same drive you might already take for shopping, healthcare specialists, or visits to Fort Bragg. The trip is comfortable highway driving and the office is easy to find from US-401.
Harnett County does not have a strong local specialty dental market. General and family dentistry is well-covered, but credentialed implant work typically requires a drive to Fayetteville, Sanford, or further. For implant-supported overdentures specifically, where both surgical and prosthetic expertise matter, Dr. Davis's depth of implant credential is the differentiator that makes the trip worth it.
Why Harnett County Patients Choose The Teeth Doctors
Many of our Spout Springs and Harnett County patients have some connection to Fort Bragg, whether through their own service, a spouse's service, a parent's service, or civilian DoD work. Dr. Davis served as a captain in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division at the installation now known as Fort Bragg before completing dental school at UNC Chapel Hill. That service connection matters to patients who have lived in the Bragg orbit; it tells them the practice understands the military community.
For patients without a base connection, the relevant question is simpler: where can you get implant-supported overdentures designed and placed by a dentist who handles implant work as primary practice rather than as an add-on service. The answer for Harnett County is rarely local. Dr. Davis plans both the implant surgery and the prosthetic design personally for every overdenture case, which is uncommon at the general-practice level.
A Veteran-Led Practice With Master Implant Credentials
Dr. Jeremiah C. Davis, DDS, MBA, holds the following credentials:
- United States Army veteran, 82nd Airborne Division
- Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD), held by fewer than 2 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada
- Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology (DABOI/ID), held by only 8 dentists in the entire state of North Carolina
- Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (FAAID)
- Master of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (MICIO)
- Master of the Academy of Osseointegration (AO)
- Surgical Master of the Interdisciplinary Dental Education Academy, held by only 8 dentists in the United States
- Dawson Academy Scholar
- Named one of America's "Top 40 Dentists Under 40" by Incisal Edge magazine
- DDS from UNC Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School
These are not honorary or paid memberships. Each requires extensive continuing education hours, supervised case volume, and in several cases a board-level examination. The DABOI/ID is the highest credential the implant dentistry field offers in the United States and is held by only 8 dentists in North Carolina.
What Are Overdentures?
An overdenture is a removable denture that snaps onto two or more dental implants placed in your jawbone. The denture looks similar to a conventional denture from the outside but locks into place with internal clips that connect to the implants. You can take it out for cleaning. It does not move while you wear it. The implants underneath stimulate your jawbone the way natural tooth roots would, which slows the gradual bone loss that long-term denture wear causes.
Overdentures fit between conventional dentures and fixed full-arch solutions like All-on-4 in both cost and complexity. They use fewer implants (typically 2 to 4 per arch versus 4 to 6 for fixed full-arch), the denture is removable rather than permanently fixed, and the total case cost is correspondingly lower. They cost more than conventional dentures but deliver dramatically better daily function and last considerably longer.
Implant-Supported vs. Tooth-Supported Overdentures
Implant-supported. Two to four implants placed in your jawbone anchor the denture. The default approach for patients who have lost all the teeth in the arch.
Tooth-supported. If a few healthy natural teeth remain in good positions, those teeth can be prepared as anchors for the overdenture. Appropriate in a smaller share of cases. The clinical exam and 3D scan at consultation tell us which option fits your case.
Your Overdenture Treatment Plan
- Consultation and CBCT scan. 60 to 90 minutes. Clinical exam, 3D imaging, goals discussion, written treatment plan and cost estimate.
- Treatment design and surgical guide. Implant positions are mapped before any surgery. A surgical guide is fabricated for accurate placement.
- Implant placement. 60 to 90 minutes per arch under local anesthesia, with sedation available on request.
- Healing period. 3 to 6 months for bone integration. You wear an interim denture during this period so you are never without teeth.
- Final impressions and overdenture fabrication.
- Delivery and adjustment. Final overdenture fitted; brief follow-up a few weeks later.
Caring for Your Overdentures
- Remove the overdenture once a day for cleaning with a soft brush and non-abrasive cleaner.
- Brush around the implant abutments and your remaining gum tissue daily.
- Soak overnight in water or a denture-cleaning solution.
- Twice-yearly cleanings and attachment checks at the practice.
- Call us right away if anything feels loose, breaks, or causes irritation.

Common Questions From Spout Springs Patients
How far is The Teeth Doctors from Spout Springs?
Roughly 20 miles. Drive time is about 30 minutes via US-401 South outside of rush hour. The route is the same one Harnett County residents typically use for trips to Fayetteville or Fort Bragg.
How long is the full treatment timeline?
Most patients are 4 to 7 months from consultation to final overdenture delivery. The bulk of that time is the 3 to 6 month healing period for implant integration. You wear an interim denture during healing so you are never without teeth.
Will my dental insurance cover any of this?
Most dental insurance plans cover a portion of the denture itself. Coverage for the implants varies by plan. We run your specific benefits before any treatment and provide a written cost estimate. CareCredit financing and the Friends and Family Membership Plan are available for patients without insurance or with limited implant coverage.
Does the practice serve patients with a Fort Bragg connection?
Yes. A substantial share of our Harnett County patients have a base connection (retired military, military spouses, civilian DoD workers). Dr. Davis is an Army veteran who served at the installation, and the practice is built around understanding military and DoD family realities, including TRICARE and VA coverage variations.
What if my bone has shrunk too much for direct implant placement?
We see this often in patients who have worn conventional dentures for years. If bone volume is too low for immediate implants, we can typically build up the area with a bone graft and place implants a few months later. The 3D scan at consultation tells us which path your case will take.
