If you live or work in Fayetteville and you need a tooth removed, you do not need to drive far or wait long. The Teeth Doctors is at 6402 Yadkin Road, off Bragg Boulevard, with same-week appointments for most extraction cases. Dr. Jeremiah Davis performs simple and surgical extractions with full sedation options and a written treatment plan you understand before anything begins.

Call (910) 864-4646 to schedule a consultation.

Why Fayetteville Patients Choose Dr. Davis

Most tooth extractions are routine. The ones that are not benefit substantially from a provider trained in surgical dentistry. Dr. Jeremiah Davis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology / Implant Dentistry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also a US Army veteran who served with the 82nd Airborne Division.

For patients whose extraction will lead to an implant, bridge, or denture, this matters. Planning the extraction with the next step already in mind preserves bone, saves time, and produces a better final result. Everything happens at one practice on one record.

Same-Week Extraction Appointments

If you are in pain or your previous dentist has told you a tooth needs to come out, the goal is to get you in quickly. Call (910) 864-4646 and ask about same-week availability. Emergencies and acute pain cases are triaged on the day you call.

What Happens at Your Visit

Your first visit is focused. Digital X-rays, a brief exam, and a conversation about sedation and the post-extraction plan. For complex cases, a 3D cone beam scan gives Dr. Davis a clear view of the tooth and the bone around it.

On the day of the procedure, plan for about 90 minutes from arrival to walking back out the door. Most simple extractions are done in 15 to 30 minutes; surgical and wisdom tooth extractions in 30 to 60. Multiple-tooth cases take longer.

Sedation Options

Our Worry Free from A to Z approach gives you four levels of sedation to choose from based on your case and your comfort:

  • Local anesthetic alone
  • Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
  • Oral sedation
  • IV sedation

If anxiety is a factor for you, please mention it at the consultation. The level of sedation is a discussion.

Recovery

Most patients are substantially recovered within three to four days. The first 24 hours matter most: protect the blood clot in the socket by keeping gauze in as instructed, avoiding straws, eating soft foods, and resting with your head slightly elevated. Soft tissue closes over the site within one to two weeks. Full bone healing takes several months.

Call (910) 864-4646 if you experience unusual swelling, persistent bleeding, fever, or pain that gets sharper around day three to four.

Cost and Financing

Cost varies by the type of extraction, sedation, and any related procedures like bone grafting. You will get a clear written estimate at the consultation before anything is scheduled. We accept most major dental insurance plans and file claims on your behalf. For uninsured patients:

  • The Friends and Family Membership Plan covers preventive care and discounts treatment, including extractions.
  • CareCredit offers third-party financing with promotional periods.

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can I be seen?

Same-week appointments are typically available. Acute pain cases are triaged on the day you call.

Will the extraction hurt?

The procedure itself should not hurt. The area is fully numbed before any instrument touches the tooth. Patients who choose IV sedation often have no memory of the procedure. Soreness once the anesthetic wears off is managed with the medication regimen you go home with.

Do I need to plan for tooth replacement?

It depends on which tooth was removed, your bite, and your goals. Wisdom teeth typically do not need replacement. Other teeth often do. The right time to plan is before the extraction, because bone-preservation steps at the time of extraction make later implant placement easier.

Do I need a ride home?

Only if you have chosen oral or IV sedation. Patients with local anesthetic alone or nitrous oxide can drive themselves home.
